Does anybody know whatever happened to Jack Moore, author of the "Kelly" (later "Kelly and Duke") comic strip? It was one of my favorites from the early 1970s.

No idea. Sorry. I do know that under one name or the other, it ran 1972-79.
The Grand Comics Database offers the info that Jack Moore's work appeared in two (the only two?) issues of The South Middlesex News Comic Book. [url[link:=www.comics.org]]Here's[url] his cover for #2. (The first featured [[link:www.toonopedia.com]]Winthrop.[/url]) (I have no other info about this publication, including and most especially where one can lay hands on a copy.)

I too have been searching for information on Jack Moore and Kelly & Duke for a few years now. I even contacted Universal Press Sysndicate, but though there are people there who remember him, I couldn't get a lead on him. I finally managed to get a copy of his K&D book God's Area Code, but it was a short book of one page illos/gags and not a collection.
I have a handful of strips clipped from papers near the end of the run that I have posted online. (I have given a copyright notice for UPS, and if they actually object I'll take them down.) Very nice. Thanks. (I'm all for sharing this sort of thing, as long as the copyright holder doesn't object.)
(Let me add, tho, that even if you were selling something, it would be okay. It would be possible to imagine commercial plugs getting out of hand and boring people away, but the possibility seems remote, so I'm not going to disapprove of them.)
